Visiting Columbus

Of course, you’re heading to Columbus to experience TCI EXPO 2017. But the fun doesn’t end when the show floor closes!

Experience the energy and excitement of what Ohio’s capital has to offer in way of great food, culture, nightlife, entertainment and shopping!

Hungry? Columbus has many dining options within walking distance of the convention center, including restaurants, breweries, bars and coffee houses. Treat yourself, take a friend or take your team – there’s something for everyone!

Does your action-packed EXPO schedule have you pinched for time? The Greater Columbus Convention Center is home to South Café & Marketplace, where you have access to a wide variety of quick menu items and snacks.

Happy Hours & Nightlife

Feeling lucky? Visit Scioto Downs, Ohio’s first racino, where you can try your hand at VLT games and bet on live harness racing. Less than 20 minutes from the convention center, this racino also offers casual and upscale dining options, happy hours, and live entertainment.

If you’re just looking for a quick drink nearby, Columbus’ local bars have many happy hour specials to choose from. The Short North, which includes the convention center at the southern end, is a great choice for happy hour specials within walking distance.

Shopping & Sight-seeing

Want to pick up a souvenir? The Short North isn’t only about happy hour. It’s also the “art and soul” of Columbus and is home to art galleries and boutiques. Check out the nationally-acclaimed Gallery Hop, held on the first Saturday of the month.

Take in history and architecture as you browse the unique shops and galleries of German Village, just 10 minutes away from the convention center. Easton is also just 10 minutes away, and is the Midwest’s premier destination for brand-name shopping.

Nearby Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, just two miles east of downtown Columbus, is the only botanical garden in the world with a permanent glass installation by artist Dale Chihuly.

Other Activities

How often do you get to be a tourist? Extend your stay in Columbus, before or after TCI EXPO, so you can enjoy free outdoor attractions (Scioto Mile, Bicentennial Plaza and Columbus Commons to name a few), tour the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, treat your ears to live music, take your taste buds for a walk on the Columbus Coffee Trail or Columbus Ale Trail, break out of escape rooms… and more!
