Join Shelly, a Wilderness EMT, climbing arborist, arborist educator and trainer to see if you and your crews are truly prepared to handle a tree worker medical emergency. Shelly’s talk picks up where basic first aid leaves off. We’ll go over emergency preparation as well as talking about emergencies more likely to happen on a tree work job site including chainsaw lacerations, broken teeth, busted bones, shock, heat stroke and more. This talk will be an overview of the 2-day emergency medical response course offered by Soteria Trainings.

Shelly has been a climbing arborist and trainer for 18 years. She is a Wilderness EMT with a passion for helping people in the tree industry work and live as safely as possible. She is an avid volunteer, giving back to the tree climbing competitions sharing her skills at UWSP TreeHaven, and helping the next generation of tree workers.
